One hundred seventy six Duplex Drive tanks were launched on D-Day: One hundred twenty one made it to shore. Many more Shermans were brought ashore by eight hundred thirty Landing Craft, Tank. LCTs generally carried ten tanks though many carried a few as four. That's a lot of armour.
