Most are USA with a handful from other countries including Canada, Portugal, Sweden, and Hong Kong. The obituary for Southern Screw noted that they were once the largest manufacturer of wood screws in the US, but they were slow to respond to the flood cheap imports from Asia. Most of the obituaries make note of a date of closing sometime between 1960 and 1970.
