From the book "Horrido" by Col. Raymond F. Toliver & Trevor J. Constable. (Bantam, 1979). When British pilots sighted enemy fighters, they would shout "Talley Ho!" The German pilots would shout "Horrido!" (after St. Horridus, the patron saint of German fighter pilots) when they had scored a kill against an enemy aircraft. German night fighter pilots would cry "Pauka! Pauka!"
