Portable steam engines

Portable is relative, I guess... The smallest engine is a mere 2000 lbs.  According to Farm Collector; John Chipman Hoadley's engines were so well designed and constructed that on the west coast where they were popular, the name "The Hoadley" became a generic term for portable steam engines. The company was in business from 1857 till 1878.
