Above, an old Perry bicycle wrench. Perry started out in the 1800's making pens, but through the acquisition of other companies they moved into the manufacture of bicycle chains and accessories, and later motorcycle chains. It wasn't until 1945 that the Perry Chain Company was established as a separate entity. In 1959 it merged with the giant Renold Chain, and its factories were closed in the Sixties as Renold left the bicycle industry.
