Carden Loyd Mark 1 Star

Lt Col. Robert J. Icks, Tanks and Armoured Vehicles.  Phillip Andrews Pub. 1945

In late 1926, British tractor manufacturer Carden & Loyd produced a one man armoured vehicle armed with a single light machine gun. With 6 to 9 mm of armour plate it weighed 1.6 tons and was powered by a Ford Model T engine. The Mark 1 Star (shown) convertible drive variant had an added wheel arrangement designed to prolong the lifespan of the tracks. Maximum speeds were 50 km/h on wheels and 24 km/h on tracks. I assume these wheels could be retracted in some way.
