Vacationing by car! 1971

The World Book Encyclopedia.  Chicago:  Field Enterprises Educational Corporation, 1971.
The Prairie Schooner would fit right in!

Born in Olympia, Washington, Bob and Ira Spring were twin brothers who came to fame as wilderness photographers.  In 1930, the Kodak Camera Company celebrated its 50th anniversary by giving away 500,000 Box Brownie cameras (each with a roll of film) to any kids who were born in 1918 and who asked for one.  The Spring twins took advantage of the offer and the rest, as they say, is history.  Ira passed away in 2003 at age 84; Robert in 2012 at 93.
