Eve Curie's Journey Among Warriors
Eve Curie. Journey Among Warriors. Doubleday, Doran & Co, Inc., 1943.
Between November 1941 and April 1942, Eve Curie travelled 40,000 miles to battlefields in North Africa, the Soviet Union and Asia. She was present during the Soviet counter-offensive at Moscow in 1942.
Her dispatches were published in a number of American newspapers, and in 1942 compiled into book form that was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
A remarkable woman. She also happened to be the youngest daughter of Marie Curie, the discoverer of radium and polonium and the person who coined the term "radioactivity."
