From Boris Spremo and his camera look at Toronto. McGraw-Hill Company of Canada Ltd., 1967.
Photo used with the kind permission of Boris Spremo, CM.
Lancaster B X FM104 was donated to the city of Toronto in 1964 and placed on a pedestal on Lakeshore Drive. After sitting outside for 36 years, subject to the ill effects of weather and vandals, the aircraft was removed from the pedestal and placed on loan with the Canadian Air & Space Museum in Toronto, Ontario. Unfortunately, with the closure of the museum (yet another bone-headed decision by our Prime Minister), it is now disassembled and filling various crates while the museum searches for a new home.
