CP-140 Aurora, 1976 brochure

From Canadian Forces CP-140 Aurora.  (Lockheed-California Company, a Division of Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, 1976).

This aircraft initially used a UNIVAC-AN/AYK-10 Navigation/Tactical Computer, the military version of the UNIVAC Type 1832 computer.  According to the brochure, it boasted "65,536 words of core memory." Basically, what today we'd call 65k.  Canada provided funding for the development of a semi-conductor memory to replace the previous mated film memory, manufacturing the new memory chassis at a Winnipeg facility.

The Aurora is still in use by the Canadian government, and in 2014 a $2 billion upgrade program was launched for 14 of the 18 aircraft in the fleet.
