El Gobernador

This massive wood-burning locomotive was built in the Central Pacific shops in 1883. Compared to the typical American 4-4-0 of the time it was a monster. Unfortunately, it was not as successful as hoped,the small grate area could not produce enough steam and it was scrapped 10 years later.
