  3. I agree with Mister G. Washing clothes was hard heavy wet hot work. A wringer was an improvement over boiling clothes and an automatic machine just amazing. And they were very expensive too. A family would need to seriously consider the cost.

    Washing machines have become commodities we have forgotten what hard work it used to be.
