Automotive stainless steel

An interesting display at the Crawford Auto Aircraft Museum in Cleveland shows that the DeLorean wasn't the first or only stainless steel car.
Ford experimented several times with the idea of stainless steel for body panels. In 1931 Ford and Allegheny Ludlum (a supplier of stainless steel) teamed up to make six model As. In 1936 there were 6 Ford Deluxe sedans given the stainless treatment which were mainly used as salesmen's cars by the Allegheny company.
There were two 1960 Thunderbirds built and in celebration of the 50,000th 1966 Lincoln Continental, three examples of that model were produced.
