One of my vices is vises, Craftsman model 506-51811

I found this neglected 5" Craftsman  Model C505-51811 bench vise at a salvage barn in Searsport, Maine, stored outside as the healthy coating of rust would indicate. I contemplated it briefly but the screw was damaged and the forty lb.-plus hunk of iron appeared to be too much of a project for me at this point.

 This line of vises was made for Sears by Columbian and the space age styling really sets it apart.
