Another Paris fleamarket wrench that I found, this one is about 200mm long and appears to be designed for three different-sized square headed bolts. However the hole sizes are 6.4 (1/4"), 6.9 and 9.2 mm square, not standard sizes. A Google of the logo and the text B TE S.C.D.C, don't bring any results. However it is a beautiful tool.
Its actually S.G.D.G.
ReplyDeleteFound this online:"Bte S.G.D.G." is an abbreviation for a typical phrase concerning products from France. "Bte" is short for "breveté" (="patented") and " S.G.D.G." stands for "Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement" (="without government guarantee")
Thanks for your information! I see now it is indeed a G not C. Any idea what the "C anchor F" on the other side means?
DeleteGot nothing on the anchor. Seeing statements that SGDG was used only up to late 1960s.
DeleteSince it's meant for square bolts and with the hole at one end (for a lanyard?) I'm wondering if it was attached to a machine tool.
DeleteIt also has a cast-in foot on the small end as if it was intended to be placed in a specific place or position.
DeleteCF Anchor is the logo of Societe Camion Freres (literally: Truck Brothers). Not finding a company history on the web yet. They made metal goods, locks, hinges, handles, door knockers, tools, hardware.

I greatly appreciate the effort you've put in! Amazing! Great to see this info and I suspect the tool I have might be an adjusting wrench for some larger device they manufactured. Much thanks!
