Jack Globus and Harry Hill were friends and brothers-in-law, and together they founded the Glo-Hill Company in Montreal in 1945. Initially, they made embossed brass picture frames, but moved into the cutlery business in the late 1940's. Hollow-ware was added to their offerings in the 1960's. All of their production was carried out in-house. At the company's height, it employed 160 people. The company filed for bankruptcy in 1978.
