So now I'm rethinking that old british wwI gas mask I sold all those years ago. Thanks for the photos - these are pretty amazing. When I was a kid I went out on a boat and watched sponge divers down in Florida. Back in the late 60's. basically a gas powered vacumn cleaner reversed pumped air into their suits. looked pretty janky. So of course when we got back home dad built one for me to use in our swimming pool. Consisted of a plastic trash can with a face mask glue into a hole in the side, a garden hose glued into the top (bottom) of the can, straps to hold the thing over my head and part of my shoulders. I could sit on the bottom of the pool for hours! He used an old, ancient vacumn cleaner - reversed the air flow. I don't think this would pass ANY safety checks lol.
Where can I get that bottom one? ebay? Amazon? Walmart? Where!!
