Another outstanding bike from Daytona 2000.
I recall that through the nineties, there was a very extroverted and cheerful guy that showed up at all the events riding a bike like this- or maybe even this one. His trademark was a bamboo coolie hat, if anyone else remembers.

ReplyDeleteNooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Damn right. A helmet should never be plunked down on its crown like that.
ReplyDeleteI'm not claiming that bike was original, but Chinese Red was a factory colour!

Man - that might be the prettiest thing I've ever seen. Richard Thompson's song came to mind:
ReplyDeleteSays James, "In my opinion, there's nothing in this world
Beats a '52 Vincent and a red-headed girl
Now Nortons and Indians and Greeveses won't do
They don't have a soul like a Vincent '52"
He reached for her hand and he slipped her the keys
He said "I've got no further use for these
I see angels on Ariels in leather and chrome
Swooping down from heaven to carry me home"
And he gave her one last kiss and died
And he gave her his Vincent to ride.
