1920s British business development propaganda

Poster for the Empire Marketing Board (1926-1933) campaign to promote intra-Empire trade. featuring flags of New Zealand, India, Italy, Britain, Canada. A reader suggests that what I thought was Italy might be green white and orange- Ireland.
There are a lot of things I don't understand here, once you get past the odd choice of fonts used by illustrator Austin Cooper. Where's Australia?
And, Buyers are builders? Shouldn't that be the other way round?

  1. That tricolor is an Irish flag, not Italian. Or so I believe.

  6. That is not an Italian flag but an Irish one - green-white-orange, not red. Even after the partition of of Ireland in the early twentieth century it remained part of the British Commonwealth until 1948.

I am surprised though that neither Australia nor South Africa is represented.

Keep posting, you have some interesting material.
