Belgian company FN had some success in GP racing in the mid thirties with their single but by 1937 something more was needed in the heyday of the supercharged entries from Germany. FN made this supercharged 5 speed parallel twin and first raced it in 1937. It was a long stroke engine (60x88) which kept the revs down to 6500rpm but it was very fast. It was plagued by various developmental and mechanical issues which it kept it from finishing many races. The war stopped the program. After the war, FN tried to sell the machine and spares to Triumph, but Edward Turner was not interested, apparently one of three has survived.
