In 1960 Jaguar built a prototype race car called E2A that combined elements of the D-Type and the soon to be released E-Type models. It was raced in the U.S. and also at Le Mans with Dan Gurney and Walt Hansgen, where it ran for six hours before dropping out with engine problems.
