Graham Walker, Murray Walker's dad to you and I, joined the company as racing manager at that time and the bikes enjoyed a successful racing career. 1928 marked the last year for the flat tank styling, after that they adopted the saddle tank which was placed over the lowered top frame tube.

In the second picture, note the small tool kit tucked between the chain runs - was it put there not to affect the balance, or because there was nowhere else to put it?
