A new addition at the Waterloo Central Railway, Not quite a sidecar perhaps, but it works much better the solo version did.
I see this unit gives the operator a full body workout, with provision for pedaling as well as rowing.

almost 50 years ago I found an intact one just like this while hunting. I thought I'd get it the next summer but over the winter the property was logged and they pushed all the "junk" into a pile and destroyed it. I think I still have the outrigger wheel somewhere. I'm 80 miles from the nearest RR

All I can say is Mr. Sheffield must have been a skinny sort, because the bars in the 'pull' position are right up agin me at full stroke.
And 'purple faced' doesn't begin to describe it...
I think it would pretty heavy and not really free-rolling- probably has bushings instead of ball bearings?
