Made by the Alex Woldert Co, this is a wonderfully complicated ratchetting device to crack nuts, clamp it to the edge of a table and get to it!
Because the company felt it had to cover the entire device with text, we know the company apparently had two locations, Tyler and Chicago and that the device had been patented.
Patent US1567884A |
How do you get a squirrel to sit still for that?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the squirrels in Tyler Texas and different?
ReplyDeleteThe nut was never born that could resist such a mighty cracker!
ReplyDeleteMr G, your title "Squirrel Nut Cracker" -- a play on the Squirrel Nut Zippers, I assume?

(Stay with it through the first minute or so. A fine animated cartoon follows.)
By the ghost of Stephen Foster, I don't know what you mean!
ReplyDeleteIt's actually cast into the frame (down by the clamp) so I can't claim that one... ;-)
Für Z.B. Walnüsse nehme ich diese Zange von Facom

The Facom pliers seem like a more sensible and versatile solution.
