Ok, that’s a real, nice Beemer. Reminds me of my 1973 R75/5 with the long swing arm and big tank. Bought it in 75 after college graduation. Had it till 79 when I t-boned a 78 Olds Cutlass on the way to work. The guy didn’t see me and turned right in front of me. Mine had an aftermarket Avon faring with lower skirts that the cylinders protruded through. Man, I miss that bike. This one is later with front disc brake. My guess is a /6.

ReplyDeleteYou're right. It's a /6.
ReplyDeleteMy $$ says '75-'76 (the last year, I believe, before BMW switched from aluminum to plastic turn signal shells).
ReplyDeleteI have a white '76 /6 and it has plastic turn signals...
ReplyDeleteHeh! My '76 had the alloy ones. Maybe someone's retrofit.
