Fokker F-32

The Fokker F-32 was the first four engine aircraft built in the US. The all-metal construction 32 passenger aircraft was introduced in September 1929 and was the largest, most luxurious airliner up to that time. A number of airlines expressed interest, unfortunately Black Friday occurred 2 months later, killing demand.

The airplane's engines were mounted in two nacelles, in a pull/pusher arrangement, the front engine having a two blade propeller, the rears three. But even with four Pratt and Whitney engines, it was underpowered.

Between the Depression and the operational costs it was too expensive for its time and only two were sold. Seven were built., none survive.
