I'm officially an old guy (credentials available on request) but I don't remember "J & R Exhaust Systems" for motorcycles. I have to guess it was a not-too-big and not-too-long-lived company despite gripping ad copy like this.
They were more known for offroad 2 stroke pipes, maybe the J&R Krizman spark arrestor. I don't remember 4-1s either...
