Tarzon Guided bomb

 

The Tarzon was a development of the 6 ton British Tallboy bomb, enhanced with the Guidance system from the earlier Razon guided bomb. It saw limited use in Korea.

  1. The original version apparently had angled tail fins which spun the bomb and thus stabilised it; it had to be dropped from a certain height which allowed it to drill in and then explode underground. See the book about the Dambusters.

    The external stuff on the newer one looks like stabilisers, and the paintjob looks like a V2 (also Tintin's space rocket) that I saw in the Reichsmuseum in Munich. It's up the middle of a spiral staircase. D.
