Marantz on your pants
A belt buckle from the 70's when Marantz represented the height of audio status and most of us had hair like the guy in the 1977 ad below, or at least we had hair. Saul Marantz created his first pre-amp in his home in New York in 1952. The company prospered, then was acquired by Superscope in 1964, then sold to Phillips in 1980, then in 2002 Marantz Japan and Denon combined to form D&M Holdings, which also acquired McIntosh Labs and Boston Acoustics. So, they're still around. Outta sight, man!
