Douglas DC9

Designed as a short to medium range airliner and with approximately one hundred passenger capacity, the DC-9 is the third highest production jet airliner. About 2400 DC-9 and later variants were built starting in 1965, the last one, as a Boeing 717 model, rolled off the line in 2006. The design lives on as the Chinese-made Comac ARJ21.
