So no front brake but still wondering where the clutch is. It appears to be a shifter on the left side or is it a foot clutch? Hand shifter maybe but that would be on the right side of tank? Do those forks actually work?
I suspect a foot clutch, hand shift, giving the clean bars. I never took a picture of the other side, I'm sure it's not as clean as this. Not sure why I even took this picture, as I said I'm not an aficionado of the breed. But I bet someone has other pics of the bike, I'm waiting :-)
Shifter is on the nearside. See the vertical stick w/red goober on top, just behind the rear cylinder? There you have it.
No front brake and a c. 1940 back brake. Choppers are folk art and demand to be ridden as such. You wouldn't tailgate folks if you were riding a Grandma Moses painting, I'm sure. Even tho the painting would prob'ly be faster than an HD 45 (alleged to make 18+ HP, but that is surely an aspirational figure).
The front fork does look as though the lower part might move, but with only the small rear brake, hand shift etc all point to a decorative piece, but down a quiet country road it might be OK. With traffic, crosswalks and traffic lights less so.

Ah, now I see the gear shift. Don'know how I missed it. I've got a few bikes that also require care to ride in traffic!
