I found this nice little orphan cast bracket-type object at Liberty Tool. With walls about .100" thick, I initially thought it was a typical pressed steel part. I don't recognize the N-in-a-circle logo but hey! it's made in USA. A similar thing is listed on ebay as a "mowing scythe" part, whatever that is. Any guesses?
While it has been close to 60 years since I used a scythe, I believe that fits the blade end of the snath, this allowed the scythe blade to be attached.
ReplyDeleteThat would make sense, it's pretty lightly made. The socket would be about the right size for a handle and the bade could attach with a few carriage bolts.
