Vintage Suzuki Dragbike

Based on an Suzuki X6 250 twin, and obviously a home built effort from several decades ago. The build construction is not.... shall we say... "up to current standards".  Frame tubes are just heated and bent over, then welded in new locations or just cut off.  The rider is nearly prone with footpegs near the rear axle. Tuned (loud) exhausts and a minimal gas tank are missing.

A friend in the London area had been offered a bike in a barn but he would have to take all the old rusty hulks. I'm not sure what he was getting that was worthwhile but there were a couple of derelict and partial mid-sixties Yamaha 80s as well as the chassis of this former drag bike. No history on it. He was going to take them directly to the recycling but asked if I had any use for the wheels or forks on this thing. Although I have some X6 Suzuki's I don't need more dead and rusty wheels. But, I can't let something as unique as this to disappear without a trace! He then bothered me for several months as I had promised to come and take the hulk out of his yard quickly.
I took one of my extra engines off the shelf and dropped it in place for some pictures to get a better idea of what the bike looked like in its heyday.
As found.

Is this a bike you found? When you post these articles, I would love to hear the back-stories behind where they came from.
