Glamour-style your car, 1954

Right next to the fender skirt and wheel spinner aisle...

  1. That has to be out of a JC Whitney catalog!

  2. The "Illuminated Jester" was always my favorite J.C. Whitney hood ornament.

  3. The JC Whitney influence is certainly obvious! That was always an entertaining catalog. It's actually Canadian Tire, a national brand, formerly the Canadian go-to place for hardware and car parts, In recent years its turned into a big Walmart-type store that has some bubblepack fasteners (if you can find that aisle) and a parts counter usually manned by a completely useless teenager who reads from the applications app. "Uhhhhh...Is your Mustang a fourdoor?"
Even sparkplugs are behind the counter and imagine the conversation when I went in for plugs for a 1948 Ford tractor (Autolite 437).
I'll admit I'm a dinosaur and that I'm not their demographic.
