“ the handle is the least ergonomic thing ever.” , yeah but I bet it’ll never break!
And, the bottom of the blade and the bottom of the handle look like they could be used as a "square enough for shingling."
I would bet that the handle was used for poking up under a shingle and cutting the nails by being hammered on the head.
