Paul Dunstall Performance, 1968

Paul Dunstall started modifying Nortons in the late fifties and became a licensed manufacturer of Norton Dominator-based race bikes in 1966 after purchasing the contents of the Norton Race shop. For those of us who couldn't afford a complete race bike, or were overseas, he also supplied go-fast parts for Nortons and BSAs.

Below, Decibel silencer.

Dunstall Decibel silencers (ahem!) were the most commonly encountered product that I recall. I once saw one on the end of a centre-exit Mini exhaust, too. Derek.

Thanks! I suddenly recalled the honeycomb pattern I’d tubes at the exit. I have a very beat up example on my GN400 ice bike. It’s not a “silencer”.

Is there a database of VIN numbers for the Dunstall Norton 810 motorcycles Paul built ? I own a 810 and I’m looking for verification it’s a Paul Dunstall built 810.
