Desperate times at Triumph

The TR25W Trophy replaced the 200cc Tiger Cub in the catalog, basically just a rebadged BSA Starfire 250.

I had one; a couple of years newer than that one, with the exhaust on the left-hand side. Never had it running. D.

Compare it to a Honda CB72. What a hopeless situation!

that fiberglASS tank would look nice painted Metal Flake then displayed on a shelf.

With the gift of forehindsight, I'd have waited for the 1970 model (like I assume D had). The left-hand high pipe came with that extremely cool booger-colored fiberglass heat shield the size of a bazooka case.

I don't expect the Triumph version of the engine was any better than BSA's original. Meanwhile; CB72, Suzuki X-6 etc... At least the previous Triumph Cub motor looked nicer. :-)

The heatshield was a silver metallic plastic thing on metal clips that went around the exhaust pipe. There were two bolts through it into the silencer, too. As I remember...! D.
