Ratchet screwdriver

An interesting little ratcheting screwdriver I found recently, with a pistol grip and interchangeable bits:

Patent No. 962057 does not correspond to any U.S. or Canadian patents for such screwdrivers.  (The US patent with this number is for a "racing apparatus" issued in 1910, the Canadian  one for a signboard issued in 1975.)  Perhaps it's British, but that country has not made its patent database easily available on the web.

my friend has one like this but in mint condition and all the parts to it and the case it was originally bought in and was wondering how much it was worth

I have one of these and Its the best screwdriver set ever! I bought it at a yard sale for a dollar. but I'm missing some pieces, that's why I'm looking to find one but can't anywhere.

Found one of these in my mother-in-law's house while cleaning it out. Had to look it up to figure out what it was (obviously some ratchet, so I'm glad I found your post of the specifics!)

Doing a google search, I found one listed on ebay from some time ago. It appears to be made in Hong Kong, although the one I found in our house is rubbed off.

My handicapped BIL just bought me one at a thrift store for $2.25.
The set is complete with everything and in it's leather case.

I was looking at some old tools for sale today and spotted a set ,in it's original case, but it was also in a little home made wooden case! I've got one which has been here for at least 40 years! but I've only got the phillips head bit left. heaven knows where the rest went to. They are fantastic tools and as i approach my 7th decades and the joints are painful they are so easy to use,So it's a wonder someone hasn't taken up making them . The patent number relates to Hong Kong I think.
Cheers! Ron B.

MY Mum has one of these (or very similar), in a plastic case with seven bits.

There are other pistol grip ratcheting screwdrivers out there, but this does seem quite unique.

It seems to be one of the few that actually work.
