Krug Furniture factory, Stratford

I love these old brick factory buildings, they've pretty much all been replaced by condos in Toronto so it was a pleasant surprise to find this facility located on Trinity St. in Stratford, built of the local yellow brick.
The building was home to Imperial Furniture till 1980 when Krug Furniture bought the company. Krug is still in business. The name is still on the building, and this address comes up in Google searches though the corporate headquarters are now located in Kitchener On.

Mostly tangible things from technology and manufacturing past. We like things that remain useful long after the companies and people that made them are gone.

Love this quote! A friend just came over saying he was looking to sell an antique Krugg Bedroom Suite. First time I've heard of a desk with 2 chairs. He has the headboard, dresser with mirror, chest with another mirror to go on the wall, and the base and mattress. Wish we could learn what year it was made. Intersting to see these buildings. And yes... the furniture is still here long after the people that made them are gone. Thanks Kruff.

Thanks for your note! I thought we had done a post on the furniture made by Krug but I don't see one. If you send me some images I can post them.
