I used to ride a Metralla in 1973 while in college. My skin still tingles on remembering the engine bursting into life. Then the lightness and performance of the bike made all else on the road seem stationary. When i think of an archetype for a motorcycle, it is the Bultaco Metralla i think of: Light, thin, engine in the middle to front, two wheels with spokes, drum brakes, reservoir and a seat. Add to it a skinny youth and you've reached our idea of freedom in the late sixties.
