Maybe Skip Olsen was a late hire, and the illustrator (I use the term generously) was told to leave the subhelmet area blank?
Beyond the oddness of the full-color Skip face, it's a peculiar image. Doctored/scribbled-upon photograph, I guess. What are the shapes right behind the bike? They look like false starts depicting the rider's foot on its way to the peg, maybe. Or something. I don't know. I don't care.
he ain't wearing no goggles. that make me suspicious. there was a late 70's Bel-Ray oil decal that also had a rider not wearing goggles. very suspicious.
