This machine would have been the British response to the HD Peashooter. J.A.Prestwich made engines, not complete motorcycles, I wonder who made the frame.
Kinda cool how little speedway bike design and appearance changed over the decades. It's like an announcement: "I am an eccentric person who pursues an obscure* pastime."
* Obscure in the postwar U.S., anyway. Um, relatively speaking. No offense intended. Heh heh.
... Oh, and this is what a 10-second Google/A.I. consultation brought forth about the Joli:
"A Joli speedway bike refers to a speedway motorcycle built by the JOLI company. JOLI, later known as ESO, was a Czechoslovakian manufacturer of speedway bikes. The company was founded by Engineer Josed, and later acquired by Jaroslav Simandl, who used JOLI parts to create the ESO version."
I suppose that, since A.I. was involved, Google's statement could be purely fictional. Doubt it, though.
Just had a look at mine (1937); same general shape, but longer and the gap between the two tubes - where the tank is - is shallower. The rear stays are also more flattened, so it's probably an older one. Rudge did build speedway bikes, but the methanol JAP motor made more power so it's maybe been a substitute for the less competitive Rudge motor.

Rudge had a double top frame tube.There may be others.They would use their own engines,though.These are interesting bikes.
