Cooper's bung borer

A tool for making holes in barrels. Can't make out the lettering on the handle unfortunately.

I think it's a bung puller or extractor, because a bung borer makes a tapered hole. Bung borers are a dime a dozen but this is a much less commonly found tool.

It appears someone attempted to make a bung puller into a bung cutter. The lead screw, originally free, looks like it's been welded to the legs and the ends on the legs are ground into cutting teeth. Wonder how long it took to figure out that it wouldn't work?

Looks like I was wrong and it is in fact a bung hole boring tool. Sorry about the misinformation:

Hmmm. I took those edges on the legs to be chisel edges, to make a circular cut. If it is a bung puller, wouldn't the center screw penetrate completely through the bung and ruin it? I don't have a lot of experience with barrels, but i do like the looks of this tool.
