Barge; Coal King

Stanley T. Spicer; Masters of Sail: Ryerson Press 1968
The final form of the square rig ship Laurence Delap, built in 1878 at Annapolis NS. After a career of sailing and trading around the world's ports many sailing ships ended their life as a barge for bulk cargo.
Possibly conflicting information from the Library and Archives Canada, Ships Registration index; The Laurence Delap burnt at (Brooklin Hale?), New York, U.S.A. on July 19, 1883 and was a total loss.
Was the ship converted to the barge after the fire?
