I found this lovely little vise at a barn sale on Saturday. Both jaws are movable, and one has a vertical groove for holding cylindrical items at right angles to the jaws. Luckily, someone had greased the screw (although this is not considered good practice on a vise) but it kept the screw from rusting, unlike the rest of the vise. I didn't know it was a Starrett until I got it home and cleaned it off. It's missing the original handle and the thumb screw for the base, but I can't complain as I paid less for it than it sold for new in 1938.
