We used to make things in this country. #213: Brentwood breadboxes

Above, a nicely-made metal breadbox I keep in my barn to store things that the mice would otherwise happily chew into junk.  I was moving it the other day, and happened to notice its Canadian origins.

"Brentwood" was a trademark of the F.W. Woolworth Company Limited, with offices at 33 Adelaide Street West in Toronto.  The trademark was used on breadboxes beginning in 1972, and on tool boxes, tool chests and tool cabinets as early as 1977.  Gone now, like Woolworths itself.
