Last streetcar run in Halifax
March 26 1949 was a sad day for streetcar fans, they were replaced by electric trolley buses which ran till 1970 when they too were retired, replaced by diesel buses.
At the height of WW2, the streetcar lines in Halifax had a ridership of about 32 million per year.
