Inspired by the NASA's use of fuel cells in the Gemini spacecraft, GM promoted this fuel cell electric car- the Electrovair- at the 1967 Detroit Auto show.
Even as this mockup was being shown, plans had changed. Due to the size and weight of the system they had moved the testbed to a GMC Handivan.

Odd. That looks like a first generation body. Ida thunk they'd have used the then-current second gen body for a show car.
Unless the development took a couple of years and the team got overtaken by events.

Kinda takes the "Handy" out of Handivan when the cargo area is filled with fuel cell parts. I like the wheels though...
Makes me wonder how big the system was in the Gemini spacecraft!
