Drill press, Canedy-Otto Mfg

A friend has a floor model version of this type of machine, an impressive early machine age sculpture of cast iron about 7 feet tall.  I had found this bench model (probably a model 28?) on display outside at a local antique/junk store and came back- prepared to consider paying his price. It's been there awhile.  Unfortunately every shaft is seized, there are parts missing and for the second time I reluctantly walked away, but wouldn't it be perfect sitting on the corner of a workbench? There is a short history of the company at the Vintagemachinery site.

Another one at Worthpoint.

That is elegant. Imagine that guys wore neckties while operating that machine back in the day.
