Just an beat up old lock made by Yale & Towne. The lock, attached to a rusted hasp was $1.50 at a junk/antique store. I wanted a used-looking hasp for a security situation, I was surprised to see that the beat up lock was made of brass and under the layer of dirt and corrosion, nicely detailed. No idea what I'm going to do with it, the next task will be to get it open.
Linus Yale Sr. invented the pin tumbler lock and was designing and making innovative locks in the mid 1800s, his son joined him in the enterprise and continued the tradtion. Yale Jr. and his colleague Henry Towne established the Yale & Towne Company in 1868 in Stanford Conn. The company went on to become a world leader in locks and secuity systems.
